“She slumped towards the wall as her emotions conveyed what she couldn’t. She blasted the hard melodies through her ears for a type of solace, as her eyes were rimmed red. Her hands squeezed around the worn out blue elephant as she hugged it tighter than she thought possible. Her shining brown orbs glanced out of the window, as she sighed. As she cranked the music up higher, one thing was certain; Sophie Foster was homesick.”

Why is love so important? A question that everybody overthinks. Love encourages you to be your best self, sure, but sometimes people do crazy things for love. People give up their social statuses and even sacrifice themselves for the people they care about. Love has its own impact that can be seen. A great instance is Oralie and Kenric. The both obviously loved each other, but Kenric's death broke Oralie's heart. You could’ve seen the way Oralie was affected by the way Sophie described the funeral. Oralie had held onto that love, even after Kenric died. Sometimes, love doesn’t have to be romantically either though. In a way, Sophie loved Calla, and Mr.Forkle too, as companions, supporters, and a sense of friends. When both of them had died, for their moonlark, Sophie had been devastated. That love had been important though because it caused a type of determination to defeat the neverseen. \n\nLove can also be shown in a twisted way. Despite it being unlike other love, it is love nonetheless. Gisela loved Keefe, as a mother loves her child, even if he was fighting from the opposite side of the battle. Just like Fitz and Alvar, who used to love each other, until Alvar betrayed the Vackers. Even if love brought the darker side of Fitz that he had been trying to keep hidden away, or the side of Keefe that he let go when he broke down in tears because of his mom, love stayed with them. Family is one thing that is really important. A perfect example is Grady and Edaline. After Jolie died, they had shut themselves off from the rest of society, until Sophie came. The fact that they were still able to love Sophie like their own daughter, it really says something. All three of them got a second chance, the Ruewens got to experience that type of love again, and Sophie got to be loved by the parents that she could’ve had. Although one thing that limits is the Matchmaking system. It seems ludicrous for our world, but who are we to judge? Even if Matchmaking exists, true love can work out; like Kesler and Juline. Even if they didn’t get matched, they still live a happy life together, even if it means being thought of as some type of outcasts. The same thing applies to Brant and Jolie, except Brant was driven by love to commit a horror; killing Jolie. The love that he had for Jolie weighed down on him though, like a burden of guilt. Even though Sophie loved her adoptive family, she still loved her human family, especially Amy. The thought of harm coming to them would’ve made Sophie devastated. When they were kidnapped though, in Nightfall, Sophie kept going to rescue them because of the love that she held onto from the beginning. That is the entire point here. Love can be damaged, twisted, or strong, but it is all the same. Without love, we would all be reconciled into our worst selves. In the Lost Cities, love is a strength, but yet a weakness. Love can have effects on you that are beyond explanation. Love is of utmost importance; keep it in your life.
