Here’s what a few people said they were expecting from the cover:
@catching.lightning_ said, “I’m hoping for Dex, Biana, and Keefe. Dex is the obvious choice because he’s beautiful and underrated but people forget that Biana hasn’t been on there in a longggg time. Also I want Keefe there because I’m shamelessly in love with him. What would be great though is if all the characters were on the cover and that’s why it took so long”.
@sophie_foster_swan said, “Alrighty! Basically, I just want some biana action on it. She’s only been on one, and she’s so pretty and awesome”.

As you all probably know, Shannon Messenger released the much-anticipated cover for LEGACY this past Monday. This release date was much later than expected, and most fans were excited and relieved when she announced the cover reveal the Friday before. Everyone had hopes for the cover, with #dexonthecover2019 being a popular hashtag on more than 400 posts. I polled my story to see what characters you wanted to see on the cover, and I asked a few influential accounts to share what they expected. From the poll, Dex and Marella both got several votes, with Biana close behind. Dex hasn’t been on a cover since KEEPER in 2012, and Biana hasn’t been on a cover since NEVERSEEN in 2015. Marella has never been on a cover.And so on Monday, the cover was revealed. Personally, I was counting down the minutes and I snuck a look at my phone during class. The cover shows Keefe, Sophie, and Fitz in London. Sophie is holding both of the boys’ hands, levitating, and inflicting. It’s dramatic, vibrant, and oh-so-beautiful. I asked @dexs.mother what they thought about the cover and here’s what they said: “The cover came out amazing. The artwork has definitely improved, and the whole style of it is stunning. I love how powerful Sophie looks, and Fitz finally looks how Ive always imagined he looked. Keefe looks very similar to his previous look on Neverseen, which is a little bit of a let down. Now, of course, I personally don’t like who made the cover. As a strong Team Sophie member, knowing the book will revolve around ships is a bit of a bummer for me. I also feel we’ve seen these two (fitz and keefe) on enough covers already but nonetheless they look flawless. Also the background is GORGEOUS. The setting and the sky are so beautiful and it goes really well with what is happening. Overall it’s not my favorite cover, but it’s still breathtaking.”
And finally, I put a poll on my story to see if the fandom liked the cover. 57 people said yes and 3 people said no. So there it is: almost everyone likes the cover!
