Today I sit down with Hannah, whom most of you know as @_bianavacker_. She’s a prominent member of the Keeper Community, and I had a fun time discussing the topic of Love in the Lost Cities with her. Check it out!
Q: How is love shown and how do we see it in the books?
A: I feel like one of the most powerful and underrated displays of love are Sophie, Grady, and Edaline. They chose to love and take her in even after they lost their only daughter tragically. And Sophie is ALWAYS doing dangerous things, so they could lose her at any time. When Sophie almost dies, or when she gets hurt, like when she got kidnapped, Grady and Edaline didn't sleep and barely ate. They dropped everything to come to her when they found out she was okay.
Q: How does this love influence the characters’ journeys throughout the books?
A: Whenever something is hard for Sophie, she can always turn to Grady and edaline. They give her something to fight for, and without them her life would be so much harder. They make sure that she's cared for, and they deal with everyone's baggage together
Q: How has love affected the KOTLC storyline? Has this been negative or positive?
Especially in the first book, this love added a lot of thick, ah, conflict? to the series. There were so many mysteries surrounding both Grady and Edaline and Sophie. But overall, it has had a positive effect. Edaline and Grady have both given Sophie some great advice that has inspired her to do lots of things, and fight for the right thing. Even with the subplots, like her friends and her relationship with the councillors, ect ect, her parents have been there. But it also adds many things.
And just like that, time flew by. I’d like to thank Hannah @_bianavacker_ for the opportunity for this interview. Keep your eyes peeled for the next one!
