Over the years since Sophie has come to the lost cities, she really has changed and broken a lot of rules. Despite the fact that most of the situations were accidental, it was particularly clear the councilors weren’t happy though. Sophie is very well predicted to modify the rules the council has set. Something is bound to happen sooner or later about the restrictions and rules, for example, the pyrokinetic rule.
Pyrokinetics are banned due to what Brant and Fintan did, and how they had abused their power. Although, Marella is a pyrokinetic, which proves that not all pyrokinetics are bad. In the future, I supposedly predict that law will change to something that states that pyrokinetics are actually allowed, but shouldn’t use their power for dangerous excuses. Even though the elves might never get over the deaths the power of fire has caused, it is a very possible idea. Just like Brant and Jolie; which brings us to a different topic. The matchmaking system/law.
Matchmaking systems are definitely interesting to us since they are so different from our world. The rule that states that if you marry someone that isn’t on one of your match lists; you are deemed a bad match and basically demoted of your social status. Juline and Kesler, Jolie and Brant, whoever.
“Sophie Foster is unmatchable.” - Flashback
The famous last line of Flashback, which left keeper fans hanging in suspense. I feel as though this would build up to a point where everything is rebuilt; the rules and laws. Matchmaking would probably change for the better, but we don’t know; anything is a possibility. I feel like many people forget the fact that Fintan was actually a councilor, and when he turned his allegiance to the Neverseen, everything ran out of order. That is always a possibility, Mr. Forkle has proven that there can be spies anywhere.
Even though Sophie is likely to break a lot of rules in the future, she already has. She went starbottling with dex and accidentally caught the ancient star, she invaded the ogre king, King Dimitar’s privacy by reading his mind, she ran away from the lost cities to join the black swan, she read her teachers mind during the first book to get all the answers, and the list goes on. Sophie has already changed Elven society and I bet she has more coming for her. She is called them moonlark for a reason. Her journey throughout the books shows how much she’s grown. Whether it was changing the limits of Telepaths or joining a resistance to the Neverseen. Even if Sophie broke rules, technically all of her friends did. Keefe joined the Neverseen, Linh nearly destroyed Atlantis with the power she held, and even Fiz is probably going to do something illegal with his hatred for Alvar. Everything is possible as to what Sophie and her friends will do. For now, we know that Sophie and her friends changed a lot of the Elvin laws by breaking them first and showing how the Elven society was already corrupted in a way. Sophie has so much in store for her in the future, and for now, all we can do is wait.
